WSO dates back to the autumn of 1959 when, as the Old Marians' Orchestra, it was founded by Chad Jackson with former pupils of Queen Mary's Grammar School in Walsall.
Links with QMGS gradually became more tenuous and, in 1991, it changed its name to Walsall Symphony Orchestra. It now involves instrumental players from all over the Walsall Borough and beyond, of varying ages and occupations, who share a common love of instrumental music.
Meeting every Monday evening during term time, we tackle a wide and varied range of works. Concerts are held around the Walsall Borough three or four times a year.
